Threesday 2 - The Early Years
A late Threesday today folks - sorry. Again, in the absence of any proper webspace, I am using the SendMeFile website to host these tracks - therefore they will only be available for 14 days from today. Please let me know how using this service goes - and leave a few comments on the choice of tracks too! My choice relates to early influences and tracks that mark changing points in my life - personally and musically. Track 1 Artist: Ozric Tentacles Album: Pungent Effulgent Title: Dissolution (the clouds disperse) Download here This track was once on an elusive tape belonging to my friend Nuala - no-one else had it and it was rarer than rocking horse... It was the soundtrack to the start of my mispent youth and has since been my personal choice for testing stero systems with. Blissed out Psychadelic Rock at its total best - which was also given a dance mix live at Glastonbury just before The Orb came onto the NME stage. Brilliant! Track 2 Artist: JTQ (James Taylor Quartet) Album: Wait a minute Title: Theme From Starsky and Hutch Download here The start of my Jazz/Acid Jazz years started with the James Taylor Quartet who were are tight live as they are on any of their recordings. Jumping into WhiteBoyBobs car with this track blaring out and speeding round to the cash point on the way to the pub was definitely my highlight. Track 3 Artist: Meat Beat Manifesto Album: Storm The Studio Title: God OD Part 1 Download here I had a good friend, Ben Leighton, who lead and influenced my choice of music in the late 80s with classics like "Sun Rising" by The Beloved and introduced me to bands like Dub Syndicate, Front 242, Depth Charge and Baby Ford. A real mix of dub, reggae, dance and sweet smelling smoke used to ooze from his attic bedroom during my 6th form years. He was definitely a strong influence on my music tastes and i salute him. Have'nt seen him for about 10 years though... tosser!

I saw Nuala over Xmas in Stony. She suggested going for a drink with a few of the 'old crowd'. Gave her my number, but she never rang.
Still looked exactly the same!
Bless her!

Re: Ozrics track
I knew Nuala at this time but not Taoski and it was me that owned that album.
