Threesday 5: The second cumming

Greets all. I'm back from my hedonistic week away at Cafe Dirtbox and have smuggled you some new tunes back in my hand luggage hidden inside my copy of "Sudoku tips for Saddoku twats". I was going to make the theme of this weeks Threesday into a remix homage to the heyday of Britpop which happened a mere 10 years ago. The truth of the matter is that i failed to find the third remixed track to make the threesome I was looking for. The Moby remix of Blur's catchy and rudely entitled hit, "Beetlebum", was not up to much... So you get two Britpop remixes and another track I forgot all about (which may not be a bad thing after all). Track 1 Artist: Portishead and DJ Shadow (UNKLE) Title: Time Has Come Download Here Early 90s. Britpop. Cool Brittania. First job. First girlfriend. First shag? Queue the first track! The non-abusing UNKLE DJ Shadow rips and distorts the UKs carrot munching, tractor driving, trip-hop, break-beat stars. I tried to see them at Glasto' one year when they played in a tent the size of WhiteBoyBobs pants. Needless to say, I never saw or heard them as it was far too crowded and I was well off my head on acid anyway watching Ozrics on the travellers stage! Or did I dream it? Track 2 Artist: Greenday vs Oasis vs Travis Title: Wonderwall Of Broken Dreams 2 Download Here This track has layed dormant in the "My Shared Folder" area on my hard disk for quite a while. Not that it never gets played, it's just that... well... I feel a little embarassed that I like it. Sort of like fancying someone off Eastenders - your mates would laugh if they knew, but you just know in your loins that something feels right. Its probably the best (technically) remix of Wonderwall there is if you exclude the 1-hit-wunder version by Mike Flowers Pops and that version I do on my guitar when the wife has gone out. Chuck in a heavy dose of the newly crowned "kings of soft-n-fluffy punk" Greenday and a smattering of lyrics from the dolphin friendly, "we were here before Coldplay" scottie rockers Travis and there you have it. Track 3 Artist: Les Rhythm Digitales Title: Jaques Your Body Download Here This track reminds you of "Spaceman" by Babylon Zoo - if only due to the fact that it is a total let down when you hear the whole song. They fooled you into buying it after they played the best bit of the song on a cool advert. Just like they did with the adverts for Madagascar! My sons refer to this track (and the car) as the "Bumbaday" and I know it as nothing less than "disappointing". Thankfully, the rest of the album is crap too. Enjoy! As per usual the files here are for personal, internal and anal use only between consenting adults and are not permitted to be broadcast on any christian radio station, "Trevor Bayliss" wind-up radios or molar filling alien message receiver devices. Those "very, very nice people" over at SendMeFile have again hosted the files for a limited earth time of 14 days. After then they will be removed, wiped, deleted and purged from every recycle bin in the land by the hand of the almighty internet godhead (me). Coming soon on Threesdays: "Dance tracks I tripped my tits off to - Part 4 - Laughing Bhuddas, Black Microdots and 'The only way is up' by Yazz".
